Each year WECU funds scholarships to students planning to attend local colleges and universities. The scholarships are awarded by the schools each spring for fall quarter studies. To be eligible the student must have a WECU account in good standing. Each institution chooses the recipient based on various criteria including financial need, GPA and other factors.

We offer scholarships to students at the following institutions:

• Western Washington University
  Two scholarships for $1500 a piece will be awarded to two full-time students pursuing a degree, with the equivalent of junior status or higher as of Fall Quarter, 2009. The Application deadline was April 2010. Applications and exact date applications are due are available through the school's Financial Aid office.
   
• Whatcom Community College
  Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two full-time students taking a minimum of 12 credit hours and working toward degrees. The application deadline for these scholarships was April 2010. Applications and exact date applications are due are available through the school's Financial Aid office.
   
• Bellingham Technical College
  Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two full-time students taking a minimum of 12 credit hours and working toward degrees. The application deadline for these scholarships was May 2010. Applications and exact date applications are due are available through the school's Financial Aid office.
   
• Northwest Indian College
  Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two full-time students taking a minimum of 12 credit hours and working toward degrees. The application deadline for these scholarships was April 2010. Applications and exact deadline applications are due are available through the school's Financial Aid office.
