Educational Scholarships

About WECU® scholarships

Each year WECU® funds scholarships to students planning to attend local colleges and universities. The scholarships are awarded by the schools each spring for fall quarter studies. To be eligible the student must have a WECU® account in good standing. Each institution chooses the recipient based on various criteria including financial need, GPA and other factors.

We offer scholarships to students at the following institutions:

  • Western Washington University: Two scholarships for $1500 each will be awarded to two full-time students pursuing a degree, with the equivalent of junior status or higher as of Fall Quarter, 2013.
  • Whatcom Community College: Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two full-time students taking a minimum of 12 credit hours and working toward degrees.
  • Bellingham Technical College: Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two full-time students taking a minimum of 12 credit hours and working toward degrees.
