Educational Scholarships
About WECU® scholarships
Each year WECU® funds scholarships to students planning to attend local colleges and universities. The scholarships are awarded by the schools each spring for fall quarter studies. To be eligible the student must have a WECU® account in good standing. Each institution chooses the recipient based on various criteria including financial need, GPA and other factors.
We offer scholarships to students at the following institutions:
- Western Washington University: Two scholarships for $1500 each will be awarded to two full-time students pursuing a degree, with the equivalent of junior status or higher as of Fall Quarter, 2011. The Application deadline is April 2011 at 4:00pm. Applications are available through the school's Financial Aid office.
- Whatcom Community College: Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two full-time students taking a minimum of 12 credit hours and working toward degrees. The application deadline for these scholarships is 4 p.m. April 29, 2011. Applications are available through the school's Financial Aid office.
- Bellingham Technical College: Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two full-time students taking a minimum of 12 credit hours and working toward degrees. The application deadline for these scholarships is June 21st, 2011. Applications are available through the school's Financial Aid office.
- Northwest Indian College: Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two full-time students taking a minimum of 12 credit hours and working toward degrees. The application deadline for these scholarships is May 31st, 2011. Applications are available through the school's Financial Aid office.
