The federal government recently approved the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, signed into law on March 11, 2021 to combat the economic effects of COVID-19. Please note the following details related to your economic impact payment (if eligible) and WECU account.

  1. Visit Get My Payment at IRS.gov for FAQ’s and more information regarding economic impact payments.
  2. The government might mail you a paper check or a prepaid VISA debit card issued by Meta Bank. Learn more. If you’ve received a card, you will need to activate it to transfer your funds to a WECU account.
  3. Use WECU Mobile or Online Banking to watch for the incoming payment. Your deposit may show as pending until the date it is available, according to the IRS payment details.
  4. Similarly to the last round of economic impact payments, WECU does not foresee any issues with distributing the funds. Your funds are safe with WECU.

Don’t forget, it’s easy to deposit your paper check anytime with the WECU Mobile app or one of our deposit-taking ATMs. Check out Mobile Deposit and other online options at wecu.com/DIY.
