BELLINGHAM (March 26, 2023) — WECU is ranked the healthiest credit union in Washington State, according to Glatt Consulting’s Credit Union Industry HealthScore, which measures credit union strength and growth.

Glatt Consulting, an independent firm that studies the financial health of credit unions, uses 17 performance metrics to calculate its Credit Union Industry HealthScore, including financial and operational strength and growth, asset quality, and productivity.

The study examined more than 4,863 credit unions in the country and found that the average HealthScore in 2022 was 6.208. WECU’s HealthScore was 8.412, scoring well above the average in several categories.

In addition to receiving the Glatt ranking, WECU was named the healthiest credit union by S&P Global Market Intelligence in Washington and 19th in the nation.
