BELLINGHAM (November 11, 2020) –WECU is honoring local veterans by making a $3,000 donation to Growing Veterans and by telling the story of local veteran and WECU business member, Derek Peris.

Growing Veterans is a nonprofit located in Lynden Washington. Its mission is to empower veterans to cultivate purpose and belonging by growing food, community, and each other. Funds will go towards Growing Veteran’s general operating budget.

WECU is also featuring an interview with former Marine and Owner of Barnyard Coffee Roasters, Derek Peris on the credit union’s community-focused podcast, Neighbor to Neighbor.
