BELLINGHAM (May 25, 2021) – WECU will donate $5,000 to support the Western Washington University’s annual Give Day celebration, Thursday, May 27. Additionally, WECU will also donate two cents each time a credit union member uses their WECU debit or credit card to make a purchase on the day of the event.
“WWU has a long and storied history in Whatcom County, as does WECU,” said Reid Frederick, WECU Director of Community Impact.” We are always happy to support and collaborate with the university on this and many other community-wide initiatives.”
WECU also produced a video that highlights WWU alumni, each of whom are also employees of the credit union.
“Several of our employees are also WWU grads, graduates of WWU, including our President & CEO, Jennifer Kutcher,” said Keith Mader, WECU Program Manager of PR & Content. “We created this video to showcase this connection to the university and to raise awareness for Give Day.”
